What is a match campaign?
Matching campaigns are a classic crowdfunding tool that use the incentive of an additional gift to spur more donations. It provides an opportunity for you to reach out to your community and create excitement that their donations can stretch further.
When does it start? How does it work?
Every project who receives individual one-time donations of any amount from Monday, May 4, 12:01 AM ET through Friday, May 8, 11:59 PM ET is automatically entered into a pool to receive $1,000. The more donations you get, the more eligible entries you will receive. Shortly after the match week, 20 projects, randomly selected from the eligible pool, will receive $1,000 from Fractured Atlas. It’s a match campaign with a twist!
Why this way?
Commonly, the funding body will match the first donations that come in until the entire amount of the match is tapped out. This approach ends up prioritizing speed and benefiting projects that are most ready to fundraise. The goal of our approach is to distribute funds more equitably.
What counts as an entry?
Any individual, one-time donation of any amount counts as an entry. Please note that donations to yourself, monthly donations, and grant awards received during the match campaign do not count as entries. Donations that come through either general support pages or crowdfunding campaigns will be counted!
How will I know if I win?
Recipients will be notified via email and funds will be transferred into your available fund balance for you to use towards any of your project’s needs.
